Albania is one of the poorest countries in Europe. Under communist repression, it became one of the most isolated and economically underdeveloped countries in the world. Since elections in 1992, which ended communist rule, Albania has experienced political instability with rioting and economic collapse.

In 1994, the Albanian government gave Mission Without Borders its highest commendation - the Mother Theresa Award.

For many, simply providing enough food, clothing and medicine to live is a daily challenge. Around the main cities, many families salvage garbage to survive. Infant mortality is high.

Mission Without Borders has established various aid, health and outreach programs. Working in partnership with local churches we support individuals and communities.

We also sponsor Si Jeni, a quarterly Christian newspaper which reaches thousands of people each year.
