MWB Winter Walk How it Works

FAQs

,Many residential building in Ukraine have been destroyed in the war
In Ukraine, bombings have destroyed and damaged millions of homes leaving families exposed to the elements. Many homes of the families Mission Without Borders works with are not constructed to keep the cold out during the winter months. Families are facing another year with skyrocketing electricity, wood, and fuel prices making it more difficult for families to heat their homes and stay warm.

The winter months in Eastern Europe can be brutally cold, and sometimes people are forced to decide what they can afford - food, rent, or heat. This is often the case with many of the seniors we serve, as they stretch everything to make ends meet, but still can't afford wood or oil to heat their homes.

And with so much of the critical infrastructure destroyed in the war, Ukraine is facing an especially brutal winter this year, enduring rolling electrical blackouts, and shortages of gas, food, & fuel.

By joining Mission Without Borders' Winter Walk Challenge and raising funds, you help amplify the voices of families struggling in seemingly hopeless circumstances, and provide desperately-needed supplies & aid through our Winter Rescue programs.

Ukraine is facing an especially brutal winter at war yet again this year

“There aren’t enough emergency generators. The absence of power supply causes huge discomfort. However, at moments of despair we remind ourselves of those Ukrainians who have been suffering from constant shelling and bombing and terror for a long time. They’ve had no light, no heating and no water supply for many months since the beginning of the war. Then there’s a humble gratitude in our hearts for everything we still have for now – and our sincere and fervent prayer for those who are in much worse conditions.”
