Timed perfectly to keep you on track with those New Year's fitness resolutions (if that's your thing), the Winter Walk Challenge helps raise awareness and desperately needed resources to help families in Eastern Europe stay warm during winter.

MWB Winter Walk How it Works

,Many residential building in Ukraine have been destroyed in the war
In Ukraine, bombings have destroyed and damaged millions of homes leaving families exposed to the elements. Many homes of the families Mission Without Borders works with are not constructed to keep the cold out during the winter months. Families are facing another year with skyrocketing electricity, wood, and fuel prices making it more difficult for families to heat their homes and stay warm.

The winter months in Eastern Europe can be brutally cold, and sometimes people are forced to decide what they can afford - food, rent, or heat. This is often the case with many of the seniors we serve, as they stretch everything to make ends meet, but still can't afford wood or oil to heat their homes.

And with so much of the critical infrastructure destroyed in the war, Ukraine is facing an especially brutal winter this year, enduring rolling electrical blackouts, and shortages of gas, food, & fuel.

By joining Mission Without Borders' Winter Walk Challenge and raising funds, you help amplify the voices of families struggling in seemingly hopeless circumstances, and provide desperately-needed supplies & aid through our Winter Rescue programs.

In more urban areas, Mission Without Borders helps vulnerable people with warm clothes, food and support through our Street Mercy programs.

By supporting participants in the Winter Walk Challenge, you will help raise awareness of MWB's work in Eastern Europe here in Canada. All funds raised will help the individuals & families we serve build brighter futures for themselves and bring hope through our Winter Rescue programming.

Put yourself out there and start fundraising!

Challenge participants who raise $150 in donations through their personal fundraising page will receive their very own MWB Winter Walk toque. Get your message out there, fundraise early and you'll receive a toque to keep you warm on your walks during the challenge!

And if a toque just isn't your style, you can choose to switch it out for one of our custom t-shirts

Ukraine is facing an especially brutal winter at war yet again this year

“There aren’t enough emergency generators. The absence of power supply causes huge discomfort. However, at moments of despair we remind ourselves of those Ukrainians who have been suffering from constant shelling and bombing and terror for a long time. They’ve had no light, no heating and no water supply for many months since the beginning of the war. Then there’s a humble gratitude in our hearts for everything we still have for now – and our sincere and fervent prayer for those who are in much worse conditions.”
